Fostering Global Collaboration, Building Beyond Borders

Venue: Hotel Royal Tulip, Kathmandu

Startup founders, investors, policymakers, corporate leaders, academics, development partners and diaspora representatives came together to address the challenges Nepali startups face, including access to finance, mentorship, regulatory barriers and limited market opportunities.

Discussions on India–Nepal startup collaboration, artificial intelligence, investment readiness, incubation and innovation-driven growth
Pitching competition won by Team Dragon Warriors, with Team Meme Patra second and Team Sodhera third

Startup Summit Nepal 2024

Inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal, alongside senior political leaders, Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, representatives from the US and Indian embassies, and prominent industry figures.

Four panel themes: startup funding and regulatory hurdles, India–Nepal cross-border cooperation, clean and green energy, and strategies to address brain drain
Taximandu named Best Startup of the Year 2024, with a prize of NPR 30,000

Startups in Nepal from a global perspective

The first summit, with Shivanth Bahadur Pande, CEO of NIBL Ace Capital, as chief guest. Keynotes, workshop-style panels, pitching sessions and networking encouraged funding opportunities and international collaboration.

Industry leaders from the U.S. Mission, CNI, fintech and tech discussed innovation, comparative advantages, infrastructure and cross-border synergies

With the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one of India’s largest commerce bodies. The annual summit, held in 2023 and 2024, seeks deeper economic engagement between India and Nepal, focused on remittance, imports, exports, startups and balance of payments challenges.
